About the stories

The stories I write begin as a whisper. Often quietly, sometimes growing louder, never hurried.

They are shaped by trust, imagination, and the belief that words do not need to be rushed to be meaningful. I write with young readers in mind, and also for the grown-ups who read alongside them, noticing how a story can speak in different ways to each.

These are stories meant to be shared.

Read slowly.

Returned to.

Stories that leave space for questions and gentle conversations, and remind us that feelings matter.

This is where the stories linger.

Meet Mari

I’m Mari Telios, author of The Little Seed’s Long Wait.

My love of stories has stayed with me since the first children’s literature class I took in college, purely for the joy of it. One of my professors loved Herman Melville so much he even wore ties with little whales on them. It stayed with me how deeply a story could become part of someone’s life, long after it was read.

Much of my inspiration comes from the lessons life quietly offers, the moments that don’t announce themselves, yet shape us all the same. Writing allows me to translate those moments into stories children can hold onto, and adults may recognize as their own.

My hope is that these stories become part of everyday life. Bedtime routines, classroom shelves, quiet pauses, and places where imagination and curiosity are learned naturally.
